Arsenal see off Aston Villa despite early scare going down 6 minuets in

Arsenal went away to Villa Park, the gunners had the best winning record against Villa then any other WSL side, winning 100% of their matches ,as well as a complete clean sheet record.


Arsenal started off well with an attempt on goal from Vivianne Miedema on her left foot , saved by goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.

However, the next minute Villa made their impact on the game with a goal from Kirsty Hanson secured Villa's first and only goal of the match.

20 minutes later Arsenal got a spot of luck after a strike by Katie McCabe was saved by Villa goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, however it took an unlucky deflection off the Aston Villa captain Rachel Corsie.

Vivianne Miedema got her fourth goal in four matches from a corner after Villa corner defence headed the ball out, straight into her feet, her strike with her right foot caught out Villa, going through and around the legs of the villa defence and Hampton.


The second half began and the gunners where far on top.


With Leah Williamson coming back on for 30 minutes to secure the defence, after the villa goalkeeper blocked out a goal scoring opportunity from Blackstenius, however Katie Mccabe swiftly changed direction, going away from her Villa defender to shoot into the back of the net , Hampton was unable to get back on her feet in time.


Jordan Nobbs would later be substituted on to score arsenals 500th WSL goal in just 200 matches , of these matches arsenal have won 140.
