Chaos as major WSL clash delayed due to sock confusion

Turmoil was caused at Stamford Bridge in the WSL when Arsenal where forced to wear the socks of their arch-rivals Chelsea due to clashing kits.

The game between the WSL's first and third, who sat only 3 points apart, was delayed by 30 minuets while the saga unfolded.

The delay was originally announced as a 'kit issue', but it later came out that the teams socks where too similar in colour for play to start.

After nearly 15 minuets of mayhem and uncertainty, the teams came out again with the Gunner's wearing Chelsea's black and blue away socks. The socks, featured strips of various coloured tape to cover the Nike logo and Chelsea's lion symbol.

The socks where, at least for Arsenal, on sale for £12.56 rather than the original £17.95

After the 30 minute delay, the match finally started although the socks where not the worst of Jonas Eidevall's squads troubles after a lacklustre first half performance they came in 3-0 down, ultimately the game slipping away from the Gunner's after just half an hour.
