Arsenal keep pressure on : 5-1 win in the North London derby v Spurs

Today Arsenal kept the pressure on their WSL counterparts, with a 5-1 win over Tottenham in the North London Derby (away)

Spurs, under new leadership of Vicky Jepson, after replacing previous manager Rehanne Skinner.

Spurs squad, which is the biggest it has been all season , faced Arsenal, who despite suffering ACL injuries to the WSL all time top goal scorer, Vivianne Miedema , and Beth Mead, Euro golden boot winner and with 55 WSL goals respectively. Have signed 4 players.

Mana Iwabuchi was unavailable for the match as her parent club is Arsenal.

The scoring started off with Arsenal, Blackstenius hitting the mark in the 5th minute [goal]. Catlin Foord continues her incredible run of scoring in North London derby in the 29th minute [goal] .

However, Spurs where to continue to put the pressure on when they got a penalty after a Katie McCabe handball incident [penalty incident], which January singing Bethany England slotted home. [penalty goal].

Half time - Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

In the second half the gunners really took the game away from Spurs. Scoring opened up after a second penalty incident , slotted home by the captain Kim Little [penalty goal]. Just 4 minutes later , Foord got her second of the match [goal] .

Then ,in form Maanum, added her self to the scoresheet in what would be the last goal of the game [goal] and what an absolute stunner of a goal .


The match means that Arsenal now sit second (with Manchester United to play West Ham later today)
