Champions league Semi Final review- Arsenal v Wolfsburg

This weekend Arsenal and Chelsea headed out in the UEFA women's champions league semi finals.

Arsenal remain to be the only English club to have won the champions league, although went into their 1st leg against Wolfsburg having to go in with a makeshift starting XI .

Lineups:

Arsenal :

1Zinsberger

3Wubben-Moy5Beattie2Carvalho Souza

16Maritz12Maanum13Wälti7Catley

21Pelova25Blackstenius15McCabe

Wolfsburg:

1Frohms

2Wilms4Hendrich6Janssen13Rauch

5Oberdorf14Roord

10Huth29Brand23Jónsdóttir

9Pajor

Wolfsburg started the scoring , with Pajor was left unmarked by the gunners defence to open up the scoring 19 minutes into the game.

It did not take long for Wolfsburg to double their goal tally ,from a defensive miscommunication with Beatie, Souza and Zinsburger.

In what the DAZN commentator described as one of the easiest goals Jónsdóttir will ever have to put in the back of the net.

However, just before the second half whistle was blown Rafelle Souza scored what would turn out to be a pivotal goal in the match.

The corner kick by Steph Catley would give unmarked Souza a chance to power the ball in the back of the net .

However, the second half threats where not over. This time , from the other side, Wolfsburg's attack nearly converted a third before the whistle was blown.

In the second half the gunners where able to level up the game thanks to a Stina Blackstenius tap in.

Although the second half was not all the gunners way, in fact it would be fair to say that Wolfsburg where the ones on the front foot.

But, all of their chances could not lead to a ball in the back of the net in the end.

An 'Injury' to Zinsberger allowed the gunners to have an important team chat and regroup.

Everything is now to play for in the second leg of the tie, which is at the emirates this bank holiday monday, to book tickets go here: Ticket information: Women's UWCL home semi-final | Arsenal.com .

So make sure too book because I think it will be a great match!

My second leg predictions :

2-0 Arsenal.

Keeping my hopes high and positive, But I do think that Arsenal will take that draw as a win in their eyes, and (especially if we can sell out) the crowd at the Emirates will get right behind them! So please get behind the team and support them.
