Tomorrow is the opening matches of the WWC quarter finals, with Spain and Netherlands facing off as well as Japan and Sweden.

Spain V Netherlands

11th August , 2 am

Japan V Sweden

Australia V France

12th August, 8 am

How did the teams get their? - Tomorrows matches

Spain - Beat Switzerland 5-1. Spain got on the scoresheet first just 5 minuets into the match, but after a terrible own goal by Laia Codina. However, they got back together and recovered hitting 4 more in before the final whistle.

Netherlands - A 2-0 win against South Africa. A 9 minute goal from Jill Roord was the first, but the dutch had to wait until the 68th minute to get their second , thanks to Lineth Beerensteyn.

Japan - won 3-1. A decisive and one-sided last half won the match for Japan, although they did loose their 100% clean sheet record after a 20th minute goal Guro Reiten

Sweden- Knocked out the 4-time winners (who won the last 2 world cups) A controversial penalty by Arsenal's Lina Hurting was ruled to have gone over the line by goal line technology. After a 0-0 draw they won penalties by 5-4.
